The ship repair activities during the first 5 months of 2017 have kept IMS busy with a variety of project on voyage and while in dry dock. One of the dry dock projects included a team of 125 workers dispatched within Europe where they were engaged in steel repairs, pipe repairs and various other miscellaneous repair projects. All works were carried out on time and within quoted cost. No incidents or non conformities of any kind were reported. We contribute the success of this project to the attending Project Manager and his team combined with the shore team at the IMS office in Constanta, as well as a friendly and highly supportive cooperation from the ship superintendents. Another large dry dock project was carried out in the Far East where several sections of hot and cold water pipes were replaced with Georg Fischer pipes. This project engaged a team of 36 pipe fitters combined with class certified welders. To ensure the quality of all works carried out, IMS personnel are provided the proper training required. To meet the demand for Georg Fischer piping systems, all IMS pipe fitters working on Georg Fischer piping systems are trained and certified by Georg Fischer. With the certification being valid for only two years, the IMS pipe fitters are re-trained to ensure their certification is current. With this we would like to thank Georg Fischer and their Miami Representative, Mr. Cesar Iglesias for his and Georg Fischer’s excellent support in helping IMS maintain the highest standard and quality of repairs and installations.
Other project on voyage have included steel renewals, pipe replacements, installation work, several repair projects related to exhaust gas scrubbers and a variety of cleaning projects. Year to date 2017, all projects have been completed accident free, on time and within Clients budget.
